Ouachita map turtle

Ouachita Map Turtles are very similar to False Map Turtles.

Identification

General description: Their carapace is brownish green with darker blotches. The top of the carapace has black knobs. Males have much more pronounced knobs than females. The plastron is yellowish. The skin is a grayish green with light yellow stripes. They have very wide eyebrow bars and chin spots.

The shape of the shell is oval with serrations along the back edge of the carapace. Females are twice the size of males with ranges of 5 to 10 inches and 3 to 6 inches, respectively.
