•This 160,000-acre forest is situated in Mahnomen, Clearwater, and Becker counties and is divided into three units: Northeast, West, and South. Most of the forest is within the boundaries of the White Earth Indian Reservation.
•Within the forest you will find both motorized and nonmotorized trails, a boat launch, primitive camping, a fishing pier, a historic site, a rest area, and WMAs to explore.
•White Earth State Forest has 65 miles of dual-purpose forest roads and 70 miles of snowmobile trails.
•Visit White Earth State Forest for the day and stay in Itasca State Park overnight, only minutes away.
Due to wet and warm conditions, forest roads and trails are deteriorating rapidly this spring. Many roads and trails are not firm enough to support vehicle traffic without being damaged. The temporary closures could remain in effect until sometime in May, depending on weather conditions. Note: not all roads and trails in a particular forest may be closed. Check the forest roads closures and OHV trail closures web pages before venturing out. Signs may be posted before web pages are updated. Obey all signs.
