Fishing regulations for Lake Superior and tributaries
This rule is about fishing seasons and limits for Lake Superior and its tributaries.
Status: We are in the public comment stage. The proposed rules will simplify and standardize trout season start and end dates, remove the restriction that only one of the five salmon allowed to be kept is an Atlantic salmon, and clarify where inland fishing regulations apply for other species.

Status: The public comment period has closed and we are reviewing comments received. The proposed rules will clarify what constitutes a hook, increase the distance allowed between multiple hooks on a single line and allow some through-the-ice automatic hook-setting devices.

Status: The proposed rule changes will clarify fishing season dates, modify some fishing seasons, establish and/or modify daily and possession limits for several fish species and clarify the northern pike management zone boundaries.
