Join the statewide challenge!

Let's get reel, moms! Join the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Student Angler Organization and Women Anglers of Minnesota for a free virtual fishing challenge just for Minnesota moms during Take a Mom Fishing Weekend from May 10-11.

This year, like every year on Mother’s Day weekend, all moms across Minnesota can fish for free without a license. And, for the third year in a row, moms who want even more fun can take part in the online Minnesota Moms Fishing Challenge!

Sign up today

Sign up here to receive the challenge link when the Facebook group goes live. We won’t email you about anything other than the Minnesota Moms Fishing Challenge.

How to participate

The challenge will take place in the Facebook group from midnight on Saturday, May 10, through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 11. During that window, submit one photo of each fish you catch in the Facebook group. All species and sizes welcome. Snap a photo and let your fish go or keep it for dinner. Bag limits and regulations do apply.

Win prizes

All moms who post a picture of their fish in the group between May 10-11 will be entered to win prizes provided by the Student Angler Organization and their partners. A representative from Student Angler Organization will message winners on Facebook after the challenge concludes.
