Introducing I Can Mountain Bike!

At the midwest's premier mountain biking trails, Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, Ironton

Remember your kids' joy and triumph when they first learned to bike? Love the freedom of a ride? Take that joy off-road with the I Can Mountain Bike! program for families, the newest addition to Minnesota State Parks and Trails I Can! programs.

You'll learn shifting, braking, and body position, along with the basics of safety and trail etiquette. At the end, you'll be ready to hit the trails for your own family adventure. Prior mountain biking experience isn't necessary, but you should know how to ride a bike on pavement prior to this event.

  • Use of mountain bikes and helmets. (Child sizes available.)
  • Small group sizes—you'll get the attention you need to develop your skills.
  • Trails for beginners.
  • $25 per rider.
  • For ages 10 and older.
  • Experienced instructors.

Register for one of three sessions each day: 9–11:30 a.m., Noon – 2:30 p.m., or 3:00–5:30 p.m.

Minimum age requirement

Prior mountain biking experience isn't necessary, but you should know how to ride a bike on pavement prior to this program.

Participants must be age 10 or above. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
