Responsible for:
- Building cleaning and repair
- State park, state trail and public water access maintenance and repair
- Grounds maintenance such as mowing, brushing, trail work, and dock installation and maintenance
- Basic equipment maintenance
- Park security (in some locations)
Important skills for buildings and grounds staff include skills in safe operation of equipment, ability to effectively recognize and solve problems, being a team player, ability to explain policies and procedures clearly and professionally to internal and external customers, and being welcoming to a diverse visitor base.
