Nearly 92 percent of School Trust Lands are concentrated in the northern portion of Minnesota and they are intermixed with county, federal, private, and other State-owned lands. Funds that are distributed from the Permanent School Fund are determined by student enrollment on a per pupil basis rather than by the concentration of School Trust Lands in a given school district.
