For a different kind of overnight adventure, stay in a tipi or wall tent! All sleep six people, and have a wood floor interior, a picnic table and fire ring with grill for cooking, and access to water and toilet facilities.

No campfires, candles, or other open flames are allowed inside tipis or wall tents. There is no electricity. Bring mosquito netting to use inside -- tipis and wall tents are not sealed the way modern tents are. Sleeping pads, cots or air mattresses are highly recommended, but there are no outlets anywhere nearby so be sure to bring a battery operated or hand pump for your air mattress.

Parks may allow additional sleeping shelters on site -- contact the park for approval prior to arrival. Pets are not allowed inside tipis or wall tents. Only approved firewood is allowed. Seasonal availability varies by park, with sites typically open May through October.

Make a reservation

Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance, 24 hours a day, except for the first day a reservation becomes available. On that first day, reservations cannot be made online before 8 a.m.
