C.J. Ramstad/North Shore State Trail
Artic temperatures this week have helped preserve the trail. The trail south of Two Harbors is lacking snow and is in fair condition. The base is thin at 0-2" and bare spots can be seen on the hills and valleys. The trail from Two Harbors through Grand Marais has a base of 2-3" and is in good condition. Bare spots can be seen in the corners on the trail. Minimal snow is anticipated over the weekend. Regular grooming operations will continue this weekend. Use caution in the Tofte area, on trail sections that share the road with Forest Road 166/Cross River 600 Road. Watch for trucks hauling on the shared trail as there is a winter timber harvest in progress.
