Valley Creek

Location:

The mouth of Valley Creek is in Afton.

Species Present:

Rainbow Trout: average abundance, average size.
Brown Trout: high abundance, average size.
Brook Trout: high abundance, average size.

Accessibility:

The property adjacent to this stream is entirely in private ownership. Anglers must get the permission of property owners to fish this stream, or access it legally from a road right of way and walk in the stream bed only.

Management Plans:

1. Population assessment as needed and staffing allows.

Comments:

This stream is a very good trout stream, but has no access. Considerable work has been done on this stream by students and staff of the University of Minnesota. Property owners along the creek have been historically very protective of this resource and have limited access severely.
