Seasonal Update

Water: Exterior water faucets are turned on in the campground and the River Inn area. Most will be turned off for the season October 16 (imminently cold weather may necessitate closing them earlier if we have an imminent freeze).

Bathroom Facilities: The campground bathroom with flush toilets, sinks and showers will be open through Oct. 16. Jay Cooke State Park's campground bathroom building is being replaced in 2018. No 2018 camping or cabin reservations will have access to flush bathrooms or showers in the campground. Those camping on weekdays will potentially hear construction sounds coming from the bathroom area. Outhouses will be available for bathroom amenities.

Dump Station: Dump station will be open through October 16.

 

Campgrounds: Camping is available year-round. The park has 82 campsites, including electric sites. In winter the park plows 15-20 sites, including some electrical campsites.

Electric Sites: During the regular camping season the park has 21 electric sites available. In winter, 10 electric sites are available. Most of Jay Cooke's electric/RV campsites are better suited for smaller rigs. If you have a larger rig, anticipate hitting smaller-diameter branches when driving in the campground.

Contact Notes: Until mid-October, the park office is typically open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

 

Trail Notes: 45 miles of trails are open. Check with the park office for up-to-date information.

Season Rentals: Snowshoe rental is available during the winter season.

Naturalist Programs and Park Tours: Programs offered year-round on a regular basis from Memorial Day through Labor Day and monthly during the off-season. Check the "event calendar" for a list of current programs.
