Water: Water is available year-round at the Visitor Center, at the solar pump in the Lower Picnic Area, and at the Backpack Campground.

Bathroom Facilities: Modern bathroom facilities are available year-round in the Visitor Center. The facilities are wheelchair accessible. Vault toilets are also available year-round throughout the park.
Showers: The park does not have showers.
Campgrounds: Camping is available year-round at this park. Twenty-eight (28) hike-in campsites are available. The sites are non-electric. Both of the park's Group Camps are open for the season. Reservations are recommended.
Electric Sites: The park does not have electric sites.
Special Notes for RV Campers: RV camping is not available at Afton State Park, but is available at a nearby county park, St. Croix Bluffs, on a seasonal basis.
Reservations: Reservations are recommended during the regular camping season for the backpack campground and group camp. No reservations needed from November 1 - April 1. Camper cabins are available to reserve up to 1 year in advance and reservations are recommended.

Trail Notes: All hiking, horseback riding, and bicycle trails are currently open. Please note: Horse trails will be closed to riding on Saturday, July 4th due to a special event. The horse trails will re-open for riding on Sunday, July 5th.
Season Rentals: The Visitor Center is now staffed by a park naturalist and will be used for scheduled programs. The building will not be available to reserve, but is open to the public on a daily basis when not being used for programming. GPS Units, Fishing Rods/Tackle Boxes, Birding Kits, and Kid's Discovery Kits can be checked out for free at the contact station.
