Finland State Forest


Management Activities: Management activities in the forest include timber harvesting, reforestation, fire protection, wildlife habitat improvement, and recreational development.

History: The Minnesota Legislature established Finland State Forest in 1933. The DNR administers more than 100,000 acres, while the federal government manages 80,000 acres and county agencies manage nearly 25,000 acres. The remaining area is privately owned.
