Trail winds through Fort Ridgely Creek and the Minnesota River Valleys. Some wooded sections are located along the trail. Trails are not groomed for skiing.
You can snowshoe anywhere in Minnesota's state parks and recreation areas, except on trails that are specifically groomed for another activity, such as skiing or snowmobiling.

Facilities:

  • The park does not rent inner tubes for the sledding hill. Visitors are welcome to bring their own inner tubes or plastic sleds. Runner sleds and toboggans are not allowed.
  • Winter camping is not available.

The trail is six miles south of Fairfax or 12 miles North of Sleepy Eye on Minnesota Highway 4.

Parking available at the chalet parking lot.
