Where to go: Come take a beautiful fall hike out to Chase Point and take in a lovely walk through the remaining color and listen to the rustle of the first fallen leaves as you enjoy the hike.
What you'll see: Maples have mostly dropped with a few trees hanging on. The popple and birch dominate the color right now with some beautiful yellows.
Also of interest: Waterfowl are active in the park and a pair of trumpeter swans have been hanging out on the north end of Coon Lake. Fish are still biting well!Last updated: October 1, 2014
Canít decide between a one-day or year-round park permit? The DNR has a special offer that can help. Start by purchasing a one-day permit for $5 and visit as many state parks as possible. After visiting the state parks, trade in the one-day permit by the end of that day and get $5 off the purchase of a year-round permit. Year-round permits, which cost $25, provide unlimited access to all 76 Minnesota state parks and recreation areas for a full year from the month of purchase.
