Unnamed (South of Long Lake Pine Springs)

Location:

This basin is located on the south side of Highway 36 directly south of Long Lake in Pine Springs. 

Species Present:

Northern Pike: average abundance, average size.
Largemouth Bass: lower than average abundance, average size.
Bluegill: average abundance, average size.
Crappie: lower than average abundance, smaller than average size.
Bullhead species: lower than average abundance, average size.
Yellow Perch: higher than average abundance, average size.

Boat Access:

This lake has no developed access. Anglers launch small boats off the shoulder of the south frontage road to Highway 36. This site is suitable for only small boats. 

Shore Fishing:

Anglers fish from shore off the shoulder of the south frontage road to Highway 36 and from the Gateway Trail which runs along the south shore of the lake. Fishing may be limited by overhanging trees in some area. 

Management Plans:

  1. No management planned at this time. 

Comments:

This basin is really the south end of Long Lake which was separated from the rest of the lake during construction of the I-694/Highway 36 intersection. Large culverts connect the two basins under the highway.
